With the introduction of AI, Google has recently introduced an “Auto dubbed” audio feature to YouTube videos, where the videos are automatically translated into other languages and embedded in the video.
Although YouTube’s multilingual videos is just awesome, some users still find it annoying. Especially when they play a YouTube video to watch it in their own language and ironically, YouTube decides to play the video in another language.
If you are in the same audience group who just don’t like YouTube to play videos in dubbed language, then here is a quick step guide to turn off auto dubbed option on YouTube as a viewer for long and short videos to enjoy watching in it’s original language.
How To Turn Off Auto Dubbed Audio on YouTube on Android
To disable the auto-dubbed audio on YouTube App on smartphones, including Android and iPhones, all the steps are mentioned below one by one. Before following the steps mentioned below, make sure to update your YouTube app.( )
Stop auto-dubbed audio track on a YouTube short:
- Open YouTube App on your Android or iPhone.
- Play a Short That has Auto-Dubbed Enabled.
- Tap on Three Dots (⁝) Icon at Top Right Corner.
- Tap on Audio Track.
- Now, Select Original Audio Track.
This will disable the dubbed audio track on the short video and play it with the original audio.
Stop auto-dubbed audio track on a YouTube Long Video:
- Open YouTube App on your Android or iPhone.
- Play a Video That has Auto-Dub enabled.
- Tap on Gear Icon( ) at Top Right Corner.
- Tap on Audio Track.
- Now, Select Original Audio Track.
This will disable the dubbed audio track on the long video and play it with the original audio.
Turn Off Auto Dubbed Audio on YouTube on PC
Like smartphones, you can also toggle the auto translate audio feature on/off on YouTube videos by following these simple steps.
To remove auto dubbed audio track from a YouTube video:
- Open
YouTube.comon Your Desktop Browser and Play a Video. - Click on Gear ( ) Icon at Bottom Right Side Menu.
- Select Audio Track Option.
- Now, Select Original Audio Track.
Removing auto auto-dubbed audio track from a YouTube short on PC:
Currently, YouTube has no options to change or disable the auto-dubbing of audio track for YouTube shorts on PC. However, if any short has auto-dubbed audio, you can turn it off. For this, play a long video instead of a short one, set the audio track to original, and refresh the Shorts tab. This will turn off the auto-dubbing.
